Therapeutic massage
Massage with a clinical purpose for tight muscles, overload and athlete recovery.
Therapeutic massage is not a relaxation massage: it is applied to a specific area, with a clinical goal and after assessing what is going on. The difference lies in the judgement, not the technique.
When it makes sense
It works well for muscle overload and tightness, for tension built up through sustained posture or stress, and as recovery work for athletes with high training volumes. In those cases it lowers tone, improves blood flow and restores a feeling of lightness.
When it is not the answer
If the pain comes from a degenerated tendon, a joint or a nerve, massage may relieve it briefly but resolves nothing. That is why we assess before applying it: if you need something else, we will say so and propose the right treatment.
Athlete recovery work
In season, regular recovery work helps you tolerate training load and spot areas beginning to overload in time. It should be planned around the competition calendar, not left until something already hurts.
Within the treatment plan
We use massage as one more tool, often at the start of a session to prepare the tissue before specific manual therapy, dry needling or active work.
