Podiatry
Foot care and health: examination, treatment of conditions and gait assessment.
The foot carries the whole body and takes thousands of steps a day. When something goes wrong there, the consequences rarely stay in the foot. The podiatry consultation treats both everyday problems and gait disorders.
The foot and the rest of the body
An altered gait changes the position of the knee, hip and pelvis and over time can cause pain far from the foot. That is why podiatric assessment fits naturally with physiotherapy: in many cases full treatment involves both consultations.
Chiropody and foot care
Ingrown nails, hard skin, calluses, corns, fungal infections and plantar warts. These are common problems that are resolved in the consultation and that, left untreated, end up changing the way you walk. In people with diabetes, foot care is a serious matter of prevention.
Heel and sole pain
Plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia are among the most frequent reasons for consultation, especially in summer with flat footwear and long hours standing. Treatment combines podiatric care, footwear guidance and, where needed, physiotherapy and shockwave therapy.
Gait assessment
We analyse how you load the foot walking and running to detect problems that cause overload. Where indicated, custom orthotics are considered, always alongside active foot training.
